Job summary

Eaglebrook School in Deerfield, MA, seeks a full-time Security Officer to support the Safety & Security team. The role involves responding to emergencies, patrolling campus, and assisting with events. Shift is Wednesday–Saturday, 1 p.m. to 11 p.m., with holiday and weather contingencies.

Responsibilities include documenting activities, reporting incidents, and upholding confidentiality and professional conduct while fostering positive relations with the school community.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of customer service-based experience.
• 2-4 years of public safety-related experience preferred.
• Can effectively interact with adults, adolescents, and children.
• Ability to demonstrate reliability and work as a team member.
• Ability to learn and operate internet and mobile-based applications and email.
• Ability to effectively work in high-stress situations.
• Ability to be outdoors in all weather conditions for long periods of time.
• First Responder and CPR/AED preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Emergency Response: respond to and assist with all emergency calls; investigate reports of suspicious activity; activate campus emergency notification system as needed.
• Safety & Security Functions: patrol campus by foot, bicycle, and vehicle; secure buildings; conduct fire and safety inspections; monitor cameras; direct traffic; ensure safety of community members.
• Community Relations: engage with campus community; attend events; assist with problem-solving.
• Administrative Functions: document daily activity; complete incident or fire alarm reports; attend appropriate training; perform other duties as assigned.
• Conduct: maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and compliance with campus policies and departmental guidelines.
