Job summary

Bucks County Community College is seeking a Full-Time Security and Safety Officer to provide assistance, protection, and safety for students and staff while safeguarding property on campus. The role includes emergency medical assistance, patrols, and enforcement of campus regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and at least 1 year of work experience in security or law enforcement.
• Valid operator’s license.
• Clear motor vehicle record.
• Ability to perform continuous interior and exterior patrols on rotating shifts in all weather.
• Must be certified or become certified in First Responder or Emergency Responder and CPR/AED.

Responsibilities

• Patrols buildings and grounds of the College, on foot and in vehicles using electronic check-in where required.
• Enforces rules and regulations of the College and Student Code of Conduct.
• Assists in ensuring safety of students, employees, and visitors and provides transportation as needed.
• Locks/unlocks doors, inspects security equipment, files reports for corrective action.
• Patrols parking lots, enforces safe driving, and assists motorists with disabled vehicles.
• Investigates accidents, files incident reports, notifies police/fire departments when warranted.
• Regulates traffic to maintain orderly flow; issues parking permits as needed.
• Inspects equipment and checks fire alarms, extinguishers, and emergency lights.
• Assists people with information and directions.
