Job summary

Serva LLC is seeking a professional School Security Officer to join a two-officer team responsible for security patrols, maintaining a safe campus environment, and responding to incidents. The role emphasizes building relationships with students, faculty, staff and visitors while maintaining a steady security presence.

Ideal candidates have prior school security or law enforcement experience, are capable of handling various security duties, and can adapt to the school culture.

Qualifications

• Prior school security or SRO experience.
• Prior law enforcement experience.
• Prior military service, honorable discharge.
• First Aid, CPR, and AED trained.

Responsibilities

• Conduct security patrols and monitor premises to help prevent and respond to security incidents.
• When faced with a threat, be capable of choosing the appropriate and lawful level of force necessary to preserve our clients' lives and safety.
• Help secure campus and personnel by patrolling campus, including buildings, parking lots, and athletic fields, as well as checking buildings and access points.
• Maintain a positive and courteous demeanor, and communicate with others in a professional and respectful manner.
• Assist with daily carpool and traffic control.
• Accompany personnel and students between buildings and parking lots upon request.
• Log observations, occurrences, and surveillance activities in a timely and accurate manner.
• Politely direct campus guests to appropriate log-in points and professionally notify unwanted visitors to leave the campus grounds.
• Be outgoing and approachable while providing protective services.
• Build good working relationships with the staff, students, and families of the school community.
• Work collaboratively on problem-solving and stay proactive in addressing needs.
• Learn the school's culture and provide services that fit well within it.
