Job summary

Savannah Technical College is seeking a Campus Police Officer to provide a safe and secure environment for students, staff, and visitors. The officer patrols campus areas, responds to incidents, enforces federal, state, local laws and college policies, and assists with emergencies.

The position requires Georgia POST certification, a high school diploma, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to work varied shifts, including days, evenings, nights, and weekends.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Current Georgia P.O.S.T. certification as a peace officer is required.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain firearms qualifications.
• Ability to work assigned shifts, weekends, and special events.

Responsibilities

• Patrol campus areas and monitor buildings and grounds.
• Respond to calls for service and assist with emergencies.
• Enforce federal, state, and local laws and college policies.
• Prepare accurate reports and may make arrests when necessary.
• Travel between Savannah Technical College campuses as needed.
