Job summary

Ivy Tech Community College is seeking a campus security officer to protect the Shelbyville and Franklin campuses. The role involves quick, objective analysis of situations, reporting to Public Safety, and providing escorts as needed.

You will respond to alarms, assist in first aid, and help maintain a safe and inclusive campus environment. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, excellent communication, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to resolve individual and group conflicts and communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

• Protect the safety of persons, assets, and property on Ivy Tech’s campuses.
• Document and investigate all incidents; report violations to Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness.
• Provide escort services to students and staff; respond to alarms and health-related situations.
• Lock/unlock buildings, evacuate in emergencies, and assist with FERPA and compliance duties.
