Job summary

Ivy Tech Community College seeks an evening security coordinator at the Greenfield Campus. You will reinforce campus safety, assist students, escort personnel, and respond to emergencies. The role emphasizes service, approachability, and problem‑solving in a busy college setting.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, a valid Indiana driver’s license, and the ability to communicate clearly in writing and speech. Certifications in CPR/AED/First Aid are required within weeks of hire.

Qualifications

• Must have strong customer service and student advocacy skills.
• Must be able to communicate both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to observe situations and make decisions.
• Ability to work outside in all types of weather and handle irregular hours.
• Must complete CPR, AED, First Aid and related certifications within three weeks.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to campus post orders with security duties.
• Provide general assistance to students and visitors during busy periods.
• Lock/unlock doors and direct campus traffic as needed.
• Prepare incident reports and coordinate with safety leadership.
• Respond to fire alarms and coordinate with facilities and responders.
• Input crime reporting data and assist in access control duties.
• Escort students, staff and faculty to vehicles when required.
• Maintain confidentiality and follow FERPA guidelines.
