Job summary

State of Georgia is seeking a Campus Police Officer to join the team at the Alpharetta Campus of Gwinnett Technical College. This full-time, benefited, non-exempt role reports to the Chief of Police in the Technology and Operation Division.

The position requires a valid P.O.S.T. certification, a High School diploma or GED, and completion of pre-employment screenings, background checks, and medical evaluations.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• P.O.S.T certification required.
• Pre-employment drug testing, fingerprinting, and background checks are part of employment.
• Deception tests and reference checks may be conducted.

Responsibilities

• Guard and monitor campus buildings.
• Respond to alarms and investigate disturbances.
• Coordinate with law enforcement and escort individuals as needed.
• Inspect for hazards and enforce campus safety rules.
• Direct traffic during events and maintain security for premises.
• Prepare reports of daily activities and incidents.
• Participate in disaster response and evacuation planning.
• Maintain Peace Officer Standards Training certification.
