Job summary

Washington University in St. Louis is seeking a Security Officer to support the Enterprise Physical Operations team on the St. Louis campus.

You will respond to emergency and non-emergency incidents, perform campus patrols, and assist with incident reporting and coordination across departments. You will conduct building checks, verify access control, and enforce safety and parking regulations while providing escorts and guidance to university personnel and visitors.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent high school certification or combination of education and/or experience.
• St. Louis Metropolitan Security License and within 30 days of hire: license endorsements and issuers.
• Must obtain Missouri Class E or Illinois Class D Driver’s license within 30 days.
• Certifications such as Crisis Intervention Team (CIT), EMT-Basic may be required.

Responsibilities

• Responds to emergency and non-emergency incidents on campus; assists with incident reporting and investigations.
• Conducts building checks, verifies access controls, and identifies safety hazards.
• Provides follow-up coordination, escorts, and directions for faculty, staff, students, and visitors.
• Enforces parking regulations and supports Transportation Office as needed.
• May serve as instructor for skills training and certifications.
