Job summary

Santa Fe ISD Police Department seeks a Police Officer to patrol campus properties, enforce laws, and protect students, staff, and visitors. Reports to Chief of Police and works independently to safeguard district premises.

Qualifications include HS diploma or GED, Texas Peace Officer License (TCOLE), and a valid Texas driver’s license. Five years of patrol experience preferred; ability to pass physical, psychiatric, and drug tests is required.

Qualifications

• Clear and valid Texas driver’s license required.
• General knowledge of criminal investigation, report writing, and criminal laws.
• Ability to pass required physical, psychiatric, and drug tests.

Responsibilities

• Patrols assigned campus(es) and routes walking or driving within district jurisdiction.
• Respond to calls from campuses concerning crisis situations, accidents, and crime reports.
• Investigate criminal offenses within district jurisdiction.
• Collect and preserve evidence, including witness statements and physical evidence.
• Arrest perpetrators and file charges; ensure placement in jail or juvenile detention centers as needed.
• Write effective legal incident reports and testify in court when needed.
