Job summary

Saint Francis Healthcare System is seeking Public Safety Officers to patrol the medical center campus, promoting safety among patients, staff and visitors. You will respond to requests to assist, deter disturbances, and support local authorities as needed.

The role includes notary services, event reporting, and operating safety systems across the campus. The position is full-time with rotating shifts (3:00p-11:00p) and weekends/holidays.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must obtain City of Cape Girardeau Security license within 90 days of hire or transfer into this position.
• Must gain BLS certification, provided by the medical center.
• BLS Certification required within 90 days of hire.
• One year in public safety sector preferred.

Responsibilities

• Patrol the medical center campus to promote a climate of safety and interact with the public, staff, and departments.
• Respond to requests for assistance, disturbances, and reports of suspicious or criminal activity.
• Investigate safety mishaps, document events, and submit detailed reports.
• Provide notary services and support security operations, including alarms and PPE use.
