Job summary

A.T. Still University on the Kirksville, MO campus is seeking a full-time Campus Safety Officer. You will patrol, lock/unlock doors, check for hazards, and investigate incidents to maintain campus security.

You will interact with students, staff, and visitors while enforcing parking and safety policies. The role requires the ability to lift up to 75 pounds, operate safety equipment, and respond to emergencies promptly.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous security experience preferred.
• Valid Missouri driver's license required.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
• Ability to operate doors and keys independently.
• Strong observation and reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Lock and unlock doors daily per procedures.
• Patrol premises at least twice per eight-hour shift.
• Check for fire and safety hazards daily and report hazards.
• Conduct confidential investigations and complete incident reports.
• Question strangers and verify legitimate presence.
• Respond promptly to emergency calls.
• Maintain lost and found records.
• Manage vehicle registrations and parking enforcement.
• Enter data and maintain security records.
• Check equipment like radios and vehicles.
