Lamar State College Port Arthur is seeking a Campus Safety Officer to provide service, information and aid to the campus community, deter crime, and support victims when directed by a supervisor.
This part-time position reports to the Campus Safety Department and requires a High School Diploma or equivalent along with a valid driver's license. Prior security experience is preferred, and 19.5 hours per week are scheduled on-site.

The Campus Safety Officer has responsibilities that include, but are not limited to, providing service, information and aid to all citizens as circumstances require, assisting and supporting victims of crime when directed by supervisor, deterring crime through constant uniformed presence, taking non-criminal reports and reporting safety issues on campus. This position is also responsible for the safety and welfare of students, faculty, staff and visitors and all property under the control and jurisdiction of Lamar State College Port Arthur. The Campus Safety Officer exercises independent judgement and discretion within the limits prescribed by the Rules and Regulations of the Board of Regents and Lamar State College Port Arthur policies and procedures. This position serves as a Campus Safety Authority as defined by the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act). This is a part-time position that reports to LSCPA’s Campus Safety Department.
This position requires the ability to exert substantial physical effort. Visual and auditory acuity are required to ensure safety of faculty, staff, students and visitors.
19.50 hours per week.
