Concordia University Wisconsin is seeking a part-time Campus Safety Officer for the Mequon campus. Candidates must be available for 1 eight-hour shift per week on either a 6:00am–2:00pm or 2:00pm–10:00pm schedule; weekends may be required.

The role is less than 20 hours per week and reports to the Director of Campus Safety. The position requires a high school diploma or GED, with preferred basic law enforcement or military training within the last five years and a clean driving history.

• Experience in campus safety or security is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls on campus.
• Direct other officers or personnel to address emergencies.
• Enforce campus regulations and university codes of conduct.
• Prepare shift, incident and conduct reports.
• Assist in investigations of policy violations and complaints.
• Maintain records in compliance with campus safety requirements.
• Interact with university offices and external contacts.
• patrol campus and buildings by foot and vehicle.
• Wear provided uniform and equipment on duty.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Summary

Concordia University is seeking applicants for the part-time, Campus Safety Officer position located on the Mequon, WI campus. Candidates must be available to work at least one 8-hour shift per week on 1st shift (6:00am-2:00pm; Sunday-Saturday) or 2nd shift (2:00pm-10:00pm; Friday-Sunday) This position reports directly to the Director of Campus Safety. Interested persons should enjoy working with young adults and understand the uniqueness of college law enforcement. Weekends and/or holidays may be required based on the needs of the University. This is a less than 20 hours per week position.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Respond to all emergency and non-emergency calls for assistance from the CUW community occurring on campus.
• Determine the nature and location of the emergency, determine priorities, and direct other Campus Safety Officers or emergency personnel as necessary in accordance with established procedures
• Enforce the Student Conduct Code and other University regulations, policies and procedures
• Prepare shift, incident and conduct reports as appropriate
• Assist in investigating complaints and violations of university policies and procedures
• Assist in record keeping in compliance with Campus Crime and Safety Act
• Interacts with various offices within the university as well as outside constituents
• Perform foot and vehicle patrol of the campus and buildings
• Must wear provided uniform and equipment while on duty
• May perform other duties as assigned

Education and/or Training

Candidate must have high school diploma or GED. Preferred candidate will have successfully completed a basic law enforcement training program or similar military training within the last 5 years and not be prohibited by law from possessing a firearm. Previous Law Enforcement, campus safety or security experience is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits

This is a part-time, staff, non-exempt position. The starting wage may be determined upon education and/or experience. Tuition benefits are available for employees; however, there are no other benefits associated with this position.
