Campus Safety Officer - Security

Description

  1. Patrol the hospital, parking areas, and hospital grounds.
  2. Investigate unsecured doors, gates, vehicles, and buildings.
  3. Accompany visitors and staff to parking areas when requested.
  4. Open doors, gates, vehicles, and buildings for authorized personnel.
  5. Monitor and operate Closed Circuit Television (CCTV), two-way radios, telephones, fire alarm systems, and equipment alarms.
  6. Operate and maintain motor vehicles.
  7. Maintain assigned equipment.
  8. Enforce parking and traffic policies.
  9. Assist motorists with vehicle problems (dead battery, flat tire, etc.).
  10. Investigate traffic accidents.
  11. Perform package inspections.
  12. Respond to and investigate alarms.
  13. Assist staff with patients when needed.
  14. Assist staff in confrontational situations.
  15. Respond to Emergency Codes.
  16. Assist law enforcement as needed.
  17. Complete incident reports and write concise, factual shift reports.

Experience/Qualifications

  1. High school diploma or GED required.
  2. Clean driving record required.
  3. One year of security experience preferred.
  4. Experience in a hospital setting is a plus.
  5. Good problem-solving skills required.
  6. Effective verbal and written communication skills required.
  7. Must complete and maintain physical fitness standards.
