Job summary

Wentworth is seeking a Sergeant to lead campus safety efforts, uphold the mission and values, and deliver comprehensive law enforcement services for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

The role requires sworn experience at or above the sergeant level, MA POST-certified status, and the ability to manage complex investigations while coordinating with partner agencies. A valid Massachusetts firearms license is required.

Qualifications

• Five years of sworn law enforcement experience at sergeant level or higher.
• Graduate of MA State Police Academy or MPTC Academy or equivalent.
• POST certification or eligible under the new MA POST standards.
• License to carry a firearm in Massachusetts.
• Must pass a comprehensive background assessment including criminal history, driving record, medical exam, psychological evaluation, drug screening, and inclusive work history.

Responsibilities

• Following the values and policies of the organization and department.
• Providing a full range of law enforcement and security services.
• Investigating calls, complaints, and suspicious activity and incidents.
• Enforcing laws, maintaining order, and assisting people.
• Identifying criminal activity, apprehending offenders, and identifying the source of problems.
• Working with other law enforcement agencies to resolve issues.
• Supporting the department’s mission by respecting the rights and dignity of all individuals.
