Job summary

Wentworth is seeking a Sergeant to lead campus safety efforts, uphold the mission and values, and deliver comprehensive law enforcement services for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

The role requires sworn experience at or above the sergeant level, MA POST-certified status, and the ability to manage complex investigations while coordinating with partner agencies. A valid Massachusetts firearms license is required.

Qualifications

• Five years of sworn law enforcement experience at sergeant level or higher.
• Graduate of MA State Police Academy or MPTC Academy or equivalent.
• POST certification or eligible under the new MA POST standards.
• License to carry a firearm in Massachusetts.
• Must pass a comprehensive background assessment including criminal history, driving record, medical exam, psychological evaluation, drug screening, and inclusive work history.

Requirements:

• Five years of sworn law enforcement experience as a sergeant or above.
• Applicants must be a graduate of a full-time MA State Police Academy or full-time MPTC Academy or equivalent.
• All candidates must be POST certified or able to certify under the new Massachusetts POST standards.
• License to carry a firearm in Massachusetts.
• Must successfully pass a comprehensive background assessment that includes criminal history, driving record, medical examination, psychological evaluation, drug screening, and an inclusive appraisal of work history.
• This position requires driving a university vehicle or a personal vehicle on behalf of the university; therefore, the applicant must successfully complete a motor vehicle history check and possess and maintain a current, valid driver’s license in their state of residence.
