Job summary

Niagara University is seeking a Campus Safety Officer to patrol campus areas by foot or vehicle, observe and report suspicious activity, and respond to emergencies with corrective action and thorough documentation.

Responsibilities include issuing parking tickets, working varied shifts, and supporting campus safety with confidential handling of information. A high school diploma is required, with an associate degree preferred and CPR/First Aid certification beneficial.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required or equivalent.
• Associate degree in Criminal Justice or related field preferred.
• 1 year related experience required.
• Valid New York State driver’s license and ability to operate a vehicle in Canada.
• First Aid and CPR certification or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Patrol campus environs by foot and/or vehicle and report suspicious or criminal activity.
• Respond to emergencies, take appropriate action, and document all incidents.
• Issue tickets for parking and moving violations.
• Work flexible hours including events and residence halls.
• Maintain confidentiality of information and adhere to policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
