Job summary

GWCCA is hiring a Campus Safety Officer to develop and manage fire and life safety programs across the campus, ensuring compliance with NFPA standards and regulatory guidelines. The role supports emergency preparedness and working with event services and local authorities.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in Fire Science or related field and at least three years of relevant experience, with strong communication and customer service skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Fire Science, Emergency Management, Risk Management, or related field.
• Minimum three years in facility safety, emergency management, or fire background.
• Knowledge of NFPA Life Safety Code and OSHA regulations is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, administer, and manage fire and life safety programs per codes and standards.
• Represent Public Safety on fire and life safety at meetings and committees.
• Coordinate with State Fire Marshal’s Office and local fire departments as needed.
• Develop and implement safety programs, inspect systems, and report risks.
• Review event plans, conduct safety inspections, and ensure emergency preparedness.
