George Washington University seeks a Fire Alarm Technician to support its mission across GW campuses. The role evaluates facilities, inspects fire systems, and coordinates with Risk Management to address regulatory violations.
The position requires NICET Level I and the ability to obtain NICET Level II within 12 months, with preference for Level II; on-site work at Foggy Bottom, DC, full-time, 40 hours/week, rotating schedule.
Facilities, Buildings & Grounds (FBG) is currently seeking a Fire Alarm Technician to help support the Universities mission in education. FBG is a part of GW's Facilities, Planning and Construction Management Division (FCPM), which maintains GW's property and grounds on all three campuses.
The Fire Alarm Technician may work around and/or with machine tools that present certain dangers, and all safety precautions must be followed.
Qualified candidates will hold a high school diploma/GED plus 1.5 years of relevant professional experience, or, a Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant area of study. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. The successful candidate must have possession of NICET Level I and the ability to obtain NICET Level II within 12 months of hire.
