Job summary

Ashland University Correctional Education is seeking a Full-Time Safety Services Officer to support security operations on campus. Reports to the Director of Safety Services and occasionally covers dispatcher duties during breaks to ensure continuous coverage.

The role emphasizes rapid incident reporting, emergency response, and collaboration with police when needed; candidates should be able to operate department vehicles, use radios and computers, and maintain accurate written reports.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma and be able to operate department vehicles safely.
• Must possess a valid Ohio driver’s license and basic computer skills.
• Must be able to document incidents with written reports.
• Authorized to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship offered.
• Ability to cover dispatcher duties and respond to emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Maintain attendance and punctuality; support AU objectives.
• Assist campus community in a constructive, effective manner.
• Report safety concerns to the director and initiate emergency responses.
• Cover for dispatcher breaks, respond to service calls with urgency.
• Provide detailed written incident reports and conduct interviews as needed.
