Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent combination of related education and required work experience.
• At least eight (8) years or more of progressive experience in police operations/public safety, including three (3) years of administrative and supervisory experience in police operations/public safety.
• Must possess Class 1 certification from the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy or have the ability to obtain his or her South Carolina Justice Academy certification within one year.

Responsibilities

• Performs management functions for the Police Department, such as scheduling, staffing, evaluating, reporting and budgeting.
• Directs and assists with grant writing and administration of grants.
• Responsible for planning, implementing, administering and coordinating the programs of the Campus Police Department, in addition to providing consultative, technical and administrative direction.
• Responsible for providing programs and training to provide reasonable safety and security for students, faculty, staff and the general public on college property.
• Implements programs to promote building and property security.
