Job summary

Phoenix Union High School District is seeking a Safety Assistant to maintain a safe learning and working environment across assigned campuses. The role focuses on monitoring activities, enforcing rules, and safeguarding District property while supporting campus safety operations.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, relevant security experience, and required certifications; 21+ and valid Arizona driver's license are necessary.

Qualifications

• Education, Training, and Experience Guidelines: High School diploma or GED equivalent; AND some previous security-related experience preferred; OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Monitor campus activities and enforce campus and District rules.
• Verify students and authorized visitors on campus and manage access.
• Escort disruptive students to Administration and de-escalate incidents.
• Inform Dispatch/Base and supervisors of campus activities.
• Assist safety teams at other District sites as needed.
• Participate in mandatory District/Local in-service training programs.
• Maintain confidentiality and follow policies in interactions with students, staff and the public.
