Barnes & Noble College in Massachusetts is hiring a Campus Retail Associate to deliver exceptional customer service and assist store leaders with retail operations. You will engage customers, help with transactions and keep the store organized to ensure a smooth shopping experience.

The role is temporary for up to 90 days with flexible scheduling, and includes benefits like daily discount access and development opportunities. Pay starts at $15.00 per hour in MA.

Qualifications

• Minimum 16 years of age for temporary employment.
• Confident and comfortable engaging customers to deliver an elevated experience.

• Flexible availability during the academic year including peak periods.

Responsibilities

• Assist with processing sales transactions involving cash, credit, or financial aid payments.
• Greet customers and focus on their positive experience during their visit.
• Support store operations including operating equipment and cash register with speed and accuracy.
• Keep the store fresh by shelving, arranging, cleaning, and organizing products or space.
• Temporary positions require availability to work weekly for 90 days or less with occasional weekends and varied shifts.
• Routine housekeeping such as dusting, mopping, window cleaning, vacuuming, trash removal.

Responsibilities

Expectations:

• Assist with processing sales transactions involving cash, credit, or financial aid payments.
• Provide a friendly atmosphere by greeting customers and focusing on their positive experience throughout their visit.
• Take initiative to support store operations including operating equipment and cash register while ensuring speed of service and accurate transactions.
• Keep the store looking fresh by shelving, arranging, cleaning, and organizing products or space within the store.
• Temporary positions require availability to work on a weekly basis for a period of 90 days or less with occasional weekends, and flexibility in scheduling for opening, midday, or closing shifts.
• Routine housekeeping including, for example, dusting, mopping, window cleaning, vacuuming, trash removal.

Physical Demands:

• Frequent movement within the store to access various departments, areas, and/or products.
• Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods.
• Frequent lifting.
• Occasional reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders.

Massachusetts Pay Transparency Information (Only applicable in Massachusetts stores):

Pay: Temporary Bookseller pay rate: $15.00/hr.
