Job summary

Barnes & Noble College on campus seeks a Campus Retail Associate to deliver superior customer service and support store operations. This part-time role involves handling sales, greeting customers, stocking displays, and maintaining a clean, safe store environment.

You may also assist with food and beverage prep and service according to recipes, rotate inventory, and follow safety standards. Availability year-round is required in this academic setting.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Previous food handling experience preferred.
• Confident and comfortable engaging customers to deliver an elevated experience.
• Basic math, keyboarding, and data entry skills.
• Flexible availability throughout the academic year including peak periods.

Responsibilities

• Assist with processing sales transactions involving cash, credit, or financial aid payments.
• Provide a friendly atmosphere by greeting customers and focusing on their positive experience throughout their visit.
• Take initiative to support store operations including operating equipment and cash register while ensuring speed of service and accurate transactions.
• Keep the store looking fresh by shelving, arranging, cleaning, and organizing products or space within the store.
• Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold food and drinks following prescribed recipes and techniques.
• Set up or restock displays, wrap, label, date, and rotate food items for sale.
• Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following cleaning, sanitation, and operational standards.
