Barnes & Noble College is hiring a Campus Retail Associate to deliver exceptional customer service and support store operations at our Memphis campus stores. You will help process sales, greet customers, and maintain organized, welcoming spaces while assisting with food and beverage preparation as needed.

This role emphasizes a positive attitude, reliability, and the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.

Qualifications

• Must be 16 years or older.
• Food handling experience preferred.
• Confident and comfortable engaging customers to deliver an elevated experience.
• Positive attitude with ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced, team environment.
• Basic math, keyboarding, and data entry skills.
• Flexible availability during the academic year, including peak periods.

Responsibilities

• Assist with processing sales transactions involving cash, credit, or financial aid payments.
• Greet customers and foster a friendly atmosphere for a positive in-store experience.
• Support store operations including operating equipment and cash register with speed and accuracy.
• Keep the store looking fresh by shelving, arranging, cleaning, and organizing products.
• Prepare and serve hot and cold food and drinks following prescribed recipes and techniques.
• Set up or restock displays, wrap, label, date, and rotate food items for sale.
• Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following cleaning and sanitation standards.
• Temporary positions require availability for 90 days or less with potential weekends and flexible scheduling.
• Routine housekeeping such as dusting, mopping, and trash removal.
