Job summary

University of North Florida is seeking a facilities worker to coordinate and perform recycling and refuse collection on campus. The role involves operating large dump trucks, pickup trucks, and other equipment to gather materials for resale or disposal and transport them to recycling vendors off-campus as required.

This position requires adherence to safety and legal standards, a background check, and potential driver’s license checks.

Qualifications

• Completion of ninth (9th) grade or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Some positions may require possession of a classified driver’s license appropriate to a type of vehicle operated.
• This position requires a background check. Credit check may also be required.
• The holder is a "Responsible Employee" under Title IX and must report misconduct.

Responsibilities

• Collection of refuse and recyclable materials.
• Processes recyclable/refuse materials.
• Disposes of scrap metals.
• Disposes of surplus equipment.
• Assists with events and special set-up requests; provides manpower.
• Receives and delivers supplies; assists other departments as needed.

Education

Completion of 9th grade or equivalent; driver license may be required
