Job description

The Student Manager is responsible to provide and overseeoperations for respective programs, events and/or facilities duringset work hours. The Manager will provide direction to studentworkers by supervising tasks, monitoring performance, and ensuringadherence to policies and procedures. They are responsible toprovide training and equip staff daily to perform required duties.The Student Manager is responsible for maintaining safety, reducingrisk and providing excellent customer service to all patrons.

JOB SUMMARY

The Graphic Design Student Manager position is responsible fordesigning marketing and promotional materials, promoting CampusRecreation at various events, and assisting in marketingstrategies. The candidate must be capable of taking direction andconstructive criticism and working in a team environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Design marketing and promotional materials for print anddigital platforms.
  • Assist in the development and execution of marketing campaignsthat promote Campus Recreation events and programs as directed bythe Graphic Design Coordinator.
  • Mentor and support student graphic designers by providingfeedback and suggestions on marketing materials and design projectsfor teammates as needed .
  • Assists with adherence to the Campus Recreation style guide,ensuring compliance with University policies.
  • Responsible to assist with maintenance of Campus Recreationmarketing equipment.
  • Assist in promotional tables or events to provide awell-rounded promotion of Campus Recreation events orfacilities.
  • Work in a team environment with other designers, photographers,and videographers.
  • Attend all required Campus Recreation trainings andmeetings.
  • Remain up to date on industry standards or trends.
  • Perform all other tasks assigned by the Graphic DesignCoordinator or Associate Director of Marketing to assist withCampus Recreation operations and programming.
  • Works effectively as a team member, embracing and fosteringLU's mission.

QUALIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALS
Minimum Qualifications
  • Current Liberty University student
  • 1 year of experience in marketing and promotions as a studentworker is required.
  • Experience and strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud(Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop)
  • Ability to work within a brand and respond positively toconstructive criticism
  • Ability to work up to 29 hours per week
P referred Qualifications
  • Majoring in Studio and Digital Arts, Digital Marketing, DigitalMedia, Strategic Communications or related field
  • Experience with motion graphics or marketing campaigns

WORKING CONDITIONS
Work Environment

The working environment in which one will typically perform theessential functions of this position is split between twoclimate-controlled office settings. Both areas are well lit and thenoise level is moderate.

Driving Requirements

If the employee is required to travel in performing the duties andresponsibilities of the position, the use of one’s personal vehicle(or LU vehicles) may be required for travel. Proof of a validdriver’s license, an acceptable DMV record, LU Driving Approval,and liability insurance is required when driving in the performanceof the employee’s position.

Student employees are paid at least the current Virginia minimumwage per hour. Pay may vary by position and department based on jobresponsibilities, required skills, available funding, and marketconditions.
