Job summary

Tennessee Board of Regents invites applications for a Temporary Reader/Scribe pool position across all campuses. The role supports students with disabilities by providing classroom reader/scribe services and assisting during academic testing.

Duties include taking notes, typing content, and ensuring confidentiality of student information. Hours are up to 28 per week, with pay in the $15.00–$16.50 per hour range.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to work a flexible, varied schedule based on student needs.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Demonstrated accuracy in notetaking and ability to maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Reads aloud instructions, prompts, and content for classroom readers.
• Narrates test material verbatim for testing readers.
• Types lecture notes or student responses for in-class activities as dictated.
• Provides students with accurate, full notes and ensures clarity; may include descriptions of visual information.
• Liaises with the Access Center to monitor student support and address concerns; performs basic clerical tasks.
