Job summary

Qualifications

• High School diploma with 3-5 years related field experience.
• Must have two years as public safety officer at Furman University and/or 5 years supervisory experience.
• Must have valid SC Driver's License with a clean driving record.
• Must have completed the Criminal Justice Academy.

Responsibilities

• Supervises shift staff; assigns work; ensures policy compliance; trains new staff; counsels to improve performance; approves arrests; reviews reports.
• Manages investigations; develops knowledge of criminal procedures; writes reports.
• Plans, coordinates and supervises campus events; serves as field training officer.
• Provides presentations to campus groups; represents department in meetings; coordinates with others to resolve conflicts.
• Maintains safety procedures and conducts performance reviews; supports professional development.
