Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CT State Security Guard Card or eligibility to obtain card.
• Good physical condition with height and weight in proportion.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Clean criminal history and driving record; no felony convictions.
• Not dismissed from any law enforcement unit for malfeasance; not under investigation for misconduct.
• Preferred: prior law enforcement experience; college degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Patrol University properties by foot, bicycle, or vehicle as assigned.
• Provide a dedicated security presence at an assigned post/location.
• Perform dispatcher duties as required and provide proactive services.
• Enforce university policies and safety procedures within the campus community.
• Adhere to Public Safety rules, regulations, and procedures.
• Submit incident reports promptly and investigate as appropriate.
• Maintain a professional demeanor and engage in effective public relations with the university community.
• Interact professionally with internal departments and external partners (police, fire, EMS).
• Respond to and investigate incidents or emergencies as assigned (alarms, medical, weather, accidents, disturbances).
• Provide safety escorts, vehicle assistance, unlocks, and related services; enforce parking rules.
