Job summary

Suffolk University is seeking Patrol Officers to join the Police and Public Safety Department in Boston. Officers will protect students, staff and guests, deter crime, and respond to emergencies while upholding university rules and collaborating with campus partners.

Qualified applicants will be 21+, US citizens, with a high school diploma or HiSET, and able to obtain MA firearms license. The role offers diverse shifts, training, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or HiSET completion (or equivalent) is required.
• Must be a US citizen or naturalized citizen.
• Must obtain MA License to Carry Firearms (Class A Large Capacity) per M.G.L. Chapter 140, Section 131.
• Clear conduct and suitability required including background checks and psychological evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Provide emergency assistance and community relations.
• Prevent and deter crime; secure scenes; investigate crimes and take statements.
• Enforce university rules and regulations.
• Respond to calls for assistance and provide escorts as directed.
• Administer first aid/CPR and respond to alarms and evacuations.
• Patrol campus buildings/grounds by foot, bike, or vehicle.
• Prepare and submit accurate reports; testify when required.
