Job summary

MD Anderson Cancer Center is seeking a Public Safety Officer to help maintain a safe, welcoming environment for patients, families, and staff on the Texas Medical Center campus. The role involves patrolling the campus, enforcing regulations, and responding to emergencies with professional judgment.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent, one year of relevant experience, and a valid Texas driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• 1 year relevant work experience.
• Texas driver's license (valid) with a minimum of three years history; waiver possible with at least one year of driving history.

Responsibilities

• Provide information, directions, and assistance to patients, visitors, and staff.
• Patrol campus by vehicle and on foot to monitor for safety hazards.
• Enforce institutional and parking regulations; issue permits and citations as needed.
• Serve as a Campus Security Authority in compliance with the Clery Act.
• Respond to emergencies and maintain calm, professional judgment under pressure.
