Job summary

Job description

As a Public Safety Officer, you will help ensure a safe and welcoming environment so patients, families, and employees can focus on care, research, and education. Public Safety Officers are essential to maintaining security and supporting the mission of MD Anderson Cancer Center.
The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, one year of relevant work experience, and a valid Texas driver's license. Preferred qualifications include International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) certification. Candidates should demonstrate strong communication skills, sound judgment under pressure, and a commitment to public safety.
Minimum $18.00 - Midpoint $20.54 - Maximum $23.08 per hour based on a 40-hour work week. This is a full-time position with rotating shifts that may include days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. The primary work location is the MD Anderson Cancer Center campus in the Texas Medical Center.

EDUCATION

• Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent

WORK EXPERIENCE

• Required: 1 year Relevant work experience.
• Preferred: Customer interaction role.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

• Required: TDL - Texas Drivers License Valid and current Texas driver's license with a minimum of three year's history of verifiable driving history. With less than three years of driving history, but with a minimum of one year of driving history, a waiver may be requested. Upon Hire

Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources.
