Job summary

University of Southern Indiana seeks a Public Safety Officer to provide 24/7 security for campus properties, students, staff, and visitors. You will enforce university rules, respond to emergencies, and support emergency responders as needed.

The role requires strong observation, reporting, and communication skills, plus a valid driver’s license and the ability to work rotating shifts across the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Knowledge of security enforcement methods.
• Ability to enforce policies and regulations.
• Strong observation, reporting and communication skills.
• Must have valid driver’s license and driving record.

Responsibilities

• Provide 24/7 campus security coverage.
• Enforce campus rules and applicable laws.
• Patrol campus buildings, housing, and grounds to protect people and property.
• Respond to alarms, incidents, and emergencies; assist emergency responders.
• Prepare investigations and reports on incidents and violations.
• Deliver information and support to university departments and stakeholders.
• Assist in traffic control and crowd management at events.
• Maintain patrol vehicles and equipment in good condition.
