Job summary

University of Missouri, St. Louis is seeking a Police Lieutenant to provide shift-level command supervision and operational leadership for campus public safety.

You will oversee sworn and civilian personnel, coordinate parking and transportation, and support accreditation and compliance. You will lead incident response, investigations, and community engagement initiatives while aligning with university policies and state laws.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent and at least 3 years of experience in law enforcement leadership.
• Missouri POST certification or eligibility is required and may be required prior to appointment.
• A valid driver's license is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead shift-level command supervision for patrol operations and incident command.
• Oversee Parking & Transportation and Patrol operations with accountability for outcomes.
• Supervise sworn personnel and ensure compliance with laws and accreditation standards.
• Review reports and incident responses for legality and policy adherence.
• Participate in emergency management planning and campus threat assessment activities.
• Lead community engagement initiatives and campus safety initiatives.
• Develop shift schedules and allocate staffing for events and emergencies.
• Set performance expectations and conduct evaluations and coaching.
