Job summary

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent GED.
• Verbal and mathematical skills sufficient to communicate effectively, prepare reports, analyze situations, operate the switchboard, and perform other duties.
• Accurate typing proficiency.
• Functional abilities in Microsoft Office Suite and other office related software packages.

Responsibilities

• Handle emergency and non-emergency calls for service; respond to in-person inquiries and requests from visitors; provide information and assistance.
• Maintain constant communication with on-duty personnel and ensure security while processing contacts.
• Communicate with fire departments, police, ambulance services, and 911 operators.
• Monitor the police radio and respond to requests for information and assistance.
• Operate and enter data into ARMS CAD system; maintain complex files.
• Collect and log phone requests for the Department; make phone calls for Police Officers as needed.
• Answer calls from the switchboard and maintain public relations as a Parkland College representative.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
