Job summary

The University of North Carolina is seeking a Purchasing Agent to coordinate campus procurement activities. You will review requisitions, negotiate contracts, and ensure compliance with state statutes and university policies.

Requires a four-year degree (or two-year with two years procurement experience) and preferred certifications such as North Carolina Contract Manager, CPM, CPPB or CPPO. Work location Reese Building and standard 40-hour workweek.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree from an accredited institution; or a two-year degree and at least two years of procurement-related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and procurement-related work experience.
• Contract review training or certification
• Knowledge of public higher education or governmental procurement practices

Responsibilities

• Review and process purchasing requisitions from campus departments
• Review, negotiate, and edit contracts for the purchase of goods and services
• Complete state-required documentation as applicable to purchases
• Interpret and apply state procurement statute, administrative code, and policy to all purchasing activities
