Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school and licensed to practice law in North Carolina, or eligible to become licensed within one year.
• Experience providing legal counsel on procurement and government contracting matters in a public or educational setting.
• Ability to develop guidance and programs to mitigate risk and ensure compliance with applicable laws and university policies.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice on procurement-related matters for contracts in the Department of Purchasing Services.
• Serve as the unit counsel for Finance & Operations and ensure compliance with state and federal laws, rules, regulations, and university policy.
• Educate, coordinate, and educate campus stakeholders on contracting processes, including RFP/RFI development and risk mitigation.
