Job summary

Cal State East Bay is seeking a Physician - Primary Care for an hourly, non-exempt role in the East Bay campus. The physician will provide outpatient medical care to CSUEB students, diagnose and treat general medical problems, interpret tests, and collaborate with nurses and staff on preventive health and emergency readiness.

The role requires an MD/DO with residency in primary care, California medical license, and board certification (or eligibility).

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree with completion of a primary care residency.
• California medical license to practice medicine; active DEA certificate.
• Board certification by ABMS/AOA or eligibility for board certification.
• Experience in a university health center or primary care setting preferred.
• Willingness to travel between Cal State East Bay campuses as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide outpatient medical care to Cal State East Bay students, including basic health care and augmented services.
• Examine, diagnose and treat general medical problems.
• Order and interpret tests and radiographs; provide medical consultations to nurses and staff.
• Contribute to health education, preventive medicine and emergency preparedness.
• Assist in medical emergencies and provide first aid as needed on campus.
• Support SHCS accreditation efforts and HIPAA compliance.
