Job summary

City College of San Francisco is seeking a Lifeguard to ensure the health and safety of students and pool users at a district-operated facility. The role requires immediate response to emergencies, adherence to pool rules, and collaboration with PE classes and staff.

The position is not remote and requires on-site presence. Candidates should have lifeguard and CPR/AED certifications, with additional certifications within 12 months of appointment.

Qualifications

• Lifeguard issued by the American Red Cross or equivalent
• CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer issued by the American Red Cross or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Patrol and monitor pool activities to prevent accidents and identify distressed swimmers.
• Conduct rescue operations and perform lifesaving techniques; assist swimmers in distress.
• Enforce pool rules and maintain order around the pool area.
• Inspect pool area and facilities for safety and cleanliness; perform routine cleaning and disinfection.
• Prepare the facility for aquatic events and manage equipment.
• Greet guests, check in facility users, and collect fees as needed.
• Provide information about facility operations, programs and schedules.
• Prepare incident and accident reports as necessary.
