Job summary

Central Connecticut State University is hiring a Protective Services Trainee (Police) in New Britain, CT. This full-time position is located within the CCSU Police Department and will work 40 hours per week across 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shifts, with holidays and weekends possible.

Training leading to Police Officer certification is required. Responsibilities include crowd and traffic control, patrols, incident response, and collaboration with State Police.

Qualifications

• Must have strong attention to detail and clear communication.
• Experience working in higher education environments is preferred.
• Experience utilizing computer software, including MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Provide crowd control at CCSU events and activities.
• Monitor designated areas to ensure security and access control.
• Give directions and routine information to the public.
• Participate in evacuation activities in events of emergencies.
• Assist State Police in investigations and major incidents.
• Direct traffic and enforce motor vehicle and parking regulations.
• Record information and prepare reports.
• May conduct safety training and give public presentations.
