McNeese State University invites applications for a Police Sergeant within the University Police Department. The role supervises patrols, assigns duties, and ensures campus safety with a focus on law enforcement, crime prevention, and community relations.

The position requires three years of law enforcement experience, a valid Louisiana driver’s license, and potential POST certification. Work includes rotating 12-hour shifts, overtime, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Three years of law enforcement experience.
• Possession of a current Louisiana driver’s license.
• POST certification may be required.
• Conviction of a felony or indictment will disqualify until relief is granted.

Responsabilités

• Supervises, evaluates performance, and assigns patrol duties to lower-level Police Officers.
• Plans, prioritizes, and reviews the work of sworn staff involved in patrols, investigations, crime prevention, and community relations.
• Completes all records and reports for the shift and provides them to the Police Lieutenant for review.
• Coordinates police activities with other units and inter-agency collaboration.
• Participates in shift activities including enforcing laws, issuing citations, and arrests.
• Continuously reviews activities to identify problems and improve services.
