Southern University at New Orleans (SUNO) is seeking a qualified Police Sergeant to supervise police officers and other departmental employees in protecting the campus community and enforcing local, state, and federal laws.

Position Details

Salary: $3,824–$7,738 monthly ($45,885–$92,851 annually)

Primary Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications

• A maximum of 60 semester hours may substitute for two years of experience.

Special Requirements

Applicants must:

• Be at least 18 years old.
• Possess a current Louisiana driver’s license.
• Possess an active Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) certification if required.
• Meet all applicable legal requirements concerning felony convictions or pending felony charges.
• Applicants must have a current score for the 2100—Protective Services Exam (PSE) unless exempt under State Civil Service rules or policy.
