Roxbury Community College Police Department (RCC PD) is seeking a Campus Police Officer III – Sergeant to serve as a first-line supervisor. The role oversees daily shift operations, directs sworn and non-sworn personnel, and ensures consistent, effective execution of responsibilities on campus.

This leadership position emphasizes hands-on supervision, incident response, and mentoring to maintain a secure campus environment.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 3 years of verified law enforcement experience.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must possess an active Massachusetts Driver's License.
• Must have an active License to carry firearms (LTC non-restricted).
• Demonstrated knowledge of campus law enforcement practices and investigations.
• Must pass a comprehensive background check, a pre-employment psychological exam, and a medical exam.

Responsibilities

• Reports to the Deputy Chief and oversees daily shift operations.
• Supervises sworn Campus Police Officers and non-sworn Public Safety Officers.
• Manages patrol operations and enforces departmental policies and state laws.
• Conducts roll calls to brief staff on incidents and updates.
• Reviews reports for accuracy before forwarding up the chain of command.
• Directs staff during incidents and crises, ensuring safety and compliance.
