Job summary

Butler Community College in Kansas is seeking a part-time Campus Police Officer to work as needed to fill scheduling gaps and events. You may patrol on foot or by vehicle to uphold safety and campus rules, while responding to incidents and enforcing state laws as directed.

This role requires a valid Kansas driver’s license, the ability to lift 40 pounds, basic computer skills, and familiarity with radio operations. Law enforcement certification from KLETC is required and experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years or older at employment.
• Valid Kansas driver’s license required.
• Able to lift up to 40 pounds.
• Able to run stairs and jump over small obstacles.
• Effective communication skills.
• Able to follow written and oral instructions.
• Basic computer skills including email and MS Office.
• Understand radio operations.

Responsibilities

• Patrol campus grounds, areas, streets, and buildings as required.
• Maintain safety, deter crime, and enforce state laws and campus policies.
• Prepare and file incident/accident reports.
• Coordinate with supervisor on patrols and scheduling.
• Assist with events and university activities as needed.
