Job summary

Vanderbilt University Public Safety seeks a sworn law enforcement supervisor to oversee patrol, community policing, and special events on campus. You will supervise a mixed team of officers, ensure accurate reporting, and support investigative and training activities.

Position requires certified police officer status in Tennessee and a valid driver’s license. The role emphasizes leadership, safety operations, and collaboration with campus partners to maintain secure environments for students,

Qualifications

• Three+ years of experience with an accredited law enforcement agency.
• Prior or current Corporal experience at Vanderbilt is preferred.
• Experience preparing and reviewing incident and crime reports.

Responsibilities

• Direct field supervision of police, master police, and security officers on patrol and events.
• Review and assist with incident reports, accident reports, and related documents.
• Train new officers and participate in performance evaluations and Field Training Program.
• Develop and implement Operations Plans for special events and security duties.
• Appear in court or provide testimony as needed during judicial proceedings.
• Coordinate with other departments and law enforcement agencies for safety and security.
