Job summary

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is seeking two UNC Police Officer Trainee positions. Successful applicants will patrol campus, respond to incidents, and support community policing efforts while preparing for state BLET certification.

A minimum high school diploma or GED is required; candidates must be 20+ and hold a NC driver's license, pass an extensive background check, physical and psychological exams, and complete department orientation with field training during probation.

Qualifications

• Minimum of High School diploma or GED.
• Ability to qualify for NC BLET attendance and pass background checks.
• Must be 20+ years old with a valid NC driver’s license and clean driving/ criminal history.

Responsibilities

• Patrol campus and respond to incidents to protect students, staff and visitors.
• Investigate complaints and violations of law and campus regulations.
• Support Community Oriented Policing principles and implement patrol techniques.
• Complete departmental orientation and field training during probation.
