Job summary

Wake Forest University Police Department seeks a dedicated officer to protect students, faculty, staff and visitors while safeguarding university property on campus and surrounding areas.

The role requires high school diploma with specialized training, NC certification eligibility, and a valid driver’s license. Officers perform patrols, investigations, emergency responses, and enforce laws and university policies in a dynamic, community‑oriented environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma plus specialized training with two years related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be insurable and have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
• Must meet all requirements to become certified as a Law Enforcement Officer per NC standards.

Responsibilities

• Patrols University property on foot, bicycle, or vehicle to protect lives and property.
• Conducts investigations by interviewing victims, witnesses, and suspects and collecting evidence.
• Responds to emergency calls including potentially violent or life‑threatening situations.
• Enforces state laws, city ordinances, and university regulations.
• Documents activities and prepares written reports; prosecutes offenders as necessary; intervenes in crises and uses Community Policing concepts.
