Job summary

North Carolina A&T State University is seeking a sworn campus police officer with full arrest powers to enforce state and federal laws across university property. The role involves traffic control, investigations, patrols, handling evidence with chain of custody, and testifying in court as needed.

The position supports Police Officer I–III and Master Police Officer I–III with permanent, full-time appointment; on-site work in North Carolina, with residency within a two-hour radius required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; NC commissioned LEO certification for campus officers.
• Chiefly requires completion of the agency’s field training for new campus police officers.
• For higher ranks (II/III/MPO) additional experience as sworn officer is required.

Responsibilities

• Enforce state and federal laws on campus and state facilities.
• Conduct traffic control, investigations, patrols, and respond to incidents.
• collect, preserve, and handle evidence with chain of custody; testify in court.
