Job summary

University of Wisconsin-Whitewater seeks a dedicated Police Officer I to provide campus law enforcement, security services, and emergency support. The role involves patrols, investigations, traffic control, and public safety education across the university community.

Candidates must meet WI licensing requirements or hold current certification, have post-secondary education or 60 credits, and a valid driver’s license. Starting hourly rate: $39.00; excellent benefits. Onsite at Whitewater, WI.

Qualifications

• Must be able to complete a WI Department of Justice Law Enforcement Recruit training course and become certified as a Law Enforcement Officer in Wisconsin, or already be certified by the WI LESB as a Law Enforcement Officer.
• Must possess a valid WI Driver’s License with a clean record, including no suspensions/revocations for which the license was suspended/revoked.
• Minimum of 60 credits of post-secondary education or a post-secondary degree.
• No unpardoned felony convictions or domestic violence convictions.

Responsibilities

• Provide protection of life and property and maintain peace on campus.
• Investigate crimes, identify suspects, and document case information.
• Enforce traffic laws and ensure safe campus roadways.
• Provide emergency aid and crime prevention education to the community.
